Z Salty wyruszyliśmy o świcie, drogą numer 51 (Route 51), aż do San Antonio de los Cobres.  Droga prowadziła nas przez kolorowe góry, wzgórza porośnięte kwitnącymi kaktusami i pampy z pasącymi się lamami. W San Antonio de los Cobres, zjechaliśmy z trasy, aby zobaczyć Pociąg do Chmur (The Tren a las Nubes) przemierzający wiadukt.

Następnie wybraliśmy trasę krajoznawczą drogą numer 40 (Route 40). Większość trasy to była droga szutrowa, pofalowana jak tarka, którą jechaliśmy 20 km/h. Krajobraz głównie górzysty i pustynny. Niewielkie miejscowości mijane po drodze (Sen, Huancar, Sesques) wyglądały jak z innej epoki. Z drogi 40 zjechaliśmy na 52 (Route 52) i zatrzymaliśmy się przy jeziorze solnym (Salinas Grandes). Następnie udaliśmy się do miejsca, które było celem naszej dzisiejszej podróży, miasteczka Purmamarca. Do miasteczka prowadziła długa, kręta droga na wysokości 4170 m n.p.m. Purmamarka otoczona wzgórzem siedmiu kolorów (Cerro de los Siete Colores) to zapierający dech w piersiach widok.

From Salta we set off at dawn, route number 51, to San Antonio de los Cobres. The road led us through the colorful mountains, hills covered with flowering cactuses and Pampa with grazing llamas. In San Antonio de los Cobres we pulled off the road to see the Train to Clouds (The Tren a las Nubes) traversing the overpass. 

Then we chose the sightseeing route number 40. Most of the section of this road, it was gravel, undulating like a grater. We were driving 20 mph because it was impossible to drive faster. Mainly mountainous and desert landscape. The small villages, we passed along the way (Sen, Huancar, Sesques), looked like from a different era. From route 40 we drove on 52 and stopped at the salt flats (Salinas Grandes). Then we went to a place, that was the purpose of our trip today, the town Purmamarca. To this town ran a long, winding road at a height of 4170 m asl. Purmamarka, surrounded by the Hill of Seven Colors (Cerro de los Siete Colores), is a breathtaking view.
